PR: 3 | King & Bear The King & Bear Golf Course is usually spoken of in conjunction with the Slammer & Squire. Both are the official courses of the WGHF, located at the World Golf Village situated halfway between St. Augustine and Jacksonville, and were engineered by renowned hall of famers. The K&B was designed by none other than the unbeatable team of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and over the decades has hosted all the legends on the Champions Tour. This course has immaculately manicured meadows, beautiful Pine Trees, majestic Oaks, and peaceful lakes lined with gigantic coastal rock. It is playable year round. Come walk in the shadow of golf's most prestigious players and feel all the glory the game has to offer. PR: 3 | Slammer & Squire Named for the "nicknames" of the co-designers, this par 72 golf course is often paired in conversation with its brother course - King & Bear. They are both the official courses of the World Golf Hall of Fame located in the Hall of Fame Village on the road between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Bobby Weed was the main architect and engineer, but he got plenty of consultation from Sam "The Slammer" Snead, and Gene "The Squire" Sarazen. The goal of this wetland/woodland nature preserve golf course is to protect the beauty of the region while paying homage to players of past, present and future. The layout is ripe with challenges but in no way punishes beginners. There are five tees that cater to players of all skill levels. You will find lakes, undulating greens, waving Bermuda grasses and playing conditions so beautiful you may be spoiled for any other courses!
