  • Hombre Golf Club: Situated in Panama City, with four sets of tees, an award-winning golf school, a fully serviced pro shop, and a popular restaurant. The first class resort that runs the 27-hole course is a perfect place for a family vacation or a corporate meeting. Hubert Green, Hal Sutton, Donnie Hammond and Buddy Gardner designed the course to be played year round, by both expert players and new golfers. The course has plenty of water features, and conforms to PGA specifications. Hombre's landscape is so artistic and well tended that other courses tend to copy it! Bring all your clubs, and sign up for some golf lessons with one of their PGA instructors. Book a golf package on their website, and check out the club's facilities, rates for instruction, and course stats.
  • Signal Hill Golf Course: Just a great 18-hole course. The Signal Hill club is staffed by friendly people ready to serve the needs of their guests. They have a golf shop that features equipment rentals, and is a great place to get knowledgeable advice. Stats for the course are divided into 3 tees, and the slope rating ranges from 118 to 107. Beautiful views. Gorgeous greens. Targeted fairways. An ideal golfing experience by most standards. The website features a slide show, a list of the applicable green fees, and a map. Located in Panama City.
  • The Holiday Golf Club: A mile from a popular Panama City beach, The Holiday Golf Club features a well stocked proshop, and a great place to have a delicious meal after a rewarding round with friends. Consider this semi-private, 18-hole par 72 Championship, 6600 yard course next time you are in the Bay County area, the layout and quality of the course were created to challenge veterans of the short game, but to be fun for novices as well. Water features, high greens, and shining sand traps have grabbed the attention of the media. Holiday has earned an esteemed reputation one hole at a time! Bring all your clubs, you'll need 'em. Dress code in effect (wear soft spikes only), and advance booking for tee times is recommended. You can make your reservations on the website, as well as check out the packages they offer for golf instruction by PGA Pros.
  • Rogers Park Golf Course: This 9 hole, par 71, 6,802 yard course has a uniquely wonderful history. It was the only public outdoor area that people of African American descent were able to safely gather in at the time of segregation. The park was a place of refuge and held many after-church picnics, which is perhaps why is still feels like a sanctuary. Or maybe its the Hillsborough River acting like a buffer from the sound of traffic. Either way, Rogers Golf Course offers a convenient respite from Tampa Bay's hustle and bustle. Originally created through manual labor in 1952 and refurbished in 1976 by Ron Gar. After another overhaul in 2000, the course soon became host to the Tampa City Amateur Medal Championship. The clubhouse has a golf shop, and there is a scorecard on the website.
  • Rocky Point Golf Course: Public, located in the West Shore and Rocky Point areas, and accessible in 15 minutes from the Tampa International Airport. Tourists on a Florida golf vacation who choose to play at Rocky Point Golf Club will have their pick of the finest hotels in Tampa. It's a true original, literally being the first Floridian golf course ever! As old as it is, the course still keeps up with the best of them. A newly refurbished clubhouse opened again in the early 90's and has a great golf shop. The course itself is well tended and Rocky Point has made it a mission to preserve the natural habitat for several types of birds. Par 71, 6,328 yards and home to the Vincent Reid Academy of Golf. Get the scorecard online and check out the enticing photographs.
  • Northdale Golf Club: Florida'a natural environment at its best. Even though the 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course is in the heart of down town Tampa Bay and only a short drive from the airport it maintains a serenity hard to find anywhere in a city. Surely this has something to do with Northdale's gorgeous cypress trees and shining lake. Being near all that water makes golfers want to hit one of the nearby beaches for a refreshing swim after their game! The course is wonderfully laid out, and is a favorite with the locals both for its affordability and convenient location. Visit their website for a look at the scorecard and to find out how to win a free round...
  • Babe Zaharias Golf Course: Downtown Tampa golf course in a wooded residential area that first came into being during the roaring twenties. It was a glamorous place to be at that time but the era changed and the golf course and club closed for a few decades before it was reopened again in 2004. Although the streets that surround it are no longer filled with horse and buggies the Forest Hills neighborhood is still a wonderfully elegant area. The 6,244 yard course has all new holes, all 18 of which are irrigated for maximum lushness. The front and back nines are just par 35, but presents some challenging par 4 holes that measure about 400 yards! It's a course that players of all levels find enjoyable.
  • Capital City Country Club: A well established and much loved private club situated in the nostalgic town of Tallahassee. Capital cities do have a grandeur to them don't they? The rolling hills and Majestic Oaks give the surroundings an almost colonial feel. Members and their guests get special treatment from the staff, which makes the club feel like a "family home away from home". Its within walking distance from the downtown core and is member-operated, so you can expect to most sublime maintenance in all the buildings and social spaces. The 6,502 yard 18 hole layout is challenging but not unweildy. Pro Shop has all the best names and the calibre of instruction at the CCCC is peerless. The club is an ideal spot to host a party so check out their PDF on Banquets and Receptions. Website features a calendar of events and an interesting essay from an historical perspective.
